What are Marian Shrines?

Marian Shrines are one of many places of worship for Christians. They are specifically dedicated to Mary, because in their history, Mary had visited the sites in 'apparitions' , or an appearance from Mary. Most Marian Shrines would have had Mary visit a certain person on that site, or through a miracle to a whole congregation, sparking the need to build the shrine.
